What is the Jason Gotschall Memorial Fund for Youth Development?

For those unfamiliar with our organization, the Jason Gotschall Memorial Fund for Youth Development was founded in May 2003 following Jason’s untimely death as a result of a motor vehicle accident in November 2002. Prior to his death, Jason had served as Program Director of the Lock Haven Area YMCA where his passion was providing programs that serve youth. Jason was a native of Jersey Shore, graduating from Jersey Shore High School in 1995. Jason then graduated from Penn State University in 1999 and East Stroudsburg University in 2001 where he received his Master’s degree in sport management.  Jason’s interest in sports inspired us to hold an annual memorial golf tournament and donate all money raised to organizations providing programs that enhance the quality of life for youth in
northcentral Pennsylvania.

Over the past five years, the golf tournaments, raffles, basket bingos and other generous donations have allowed the group to provide more than $38,000 in agency grants and scholarships to service providers and youth in Clinton and Lycoming counties.  Although Jason is no longer physically with us, his spirit and what he meant to so many family and friends is alive and well as we offer these events in his memory.
